GBU-54 / B LaserJDAM is a modern American laser guided aerial bomb, which was based on another guided bomb - GBU-38. This, in turn, was based on the classic Mk. 82 with a mass of 226 kilograms, with a warhead weighing 87 kilograms, using a tritonal explosive as an explosive. GBU-54 / B is classified as one of the JDAM family bombs, but it uses a completely different guidance system - instead of inertial, it is based on laser guidance. GBU-54 / B bombs can be carried by such planes as, for example: F-16 Fighting Falcon, AV-8 Harrier II or F / A-18 Super Hornet, but also most likely by the MQ-9 Reaper drone. The F-35 Lightning II will also be integrated with this type of weapon. This type of weapon was used in combat for the first time during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. This type of weapon was introduced to the line in 2008 and was used for the first time in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.
